How to make DIY Oreo couples costumes
Step 1- Cut circles
Begin by tracing the grandest circle conceivable on your poster board using a string and a pencil. Once completed, meticulously carve out the circular shape with a pair of scissors. Duplicate the process to fashion a second, equally impressive black circle.
Step 2- Scallop the edge
After obtaining two sizable circles crafted from poster-board, employ a pair of scissors to fashion a whimsical scalloped border encircling the ebony circles. Perfection is not a prerequisite for this endeavor.
Step 3- Add Oreo details
The great conundrum that plagued me was whether to wield a silver paint pen or opt for its black counterpart. After much contemplation, I settled on black as it best emulates the authentic Oreo appearance. Yet, deep down, I couldn’t help but acknowledge that a silver pen would undoubtedly enhance its allure in photographs. With utmost spontaneity, I proceeded to trace the distinctive Oreo markings, fully aware of their imperfections and the undeniable fact that my creations were far from identical. Fear not, dear soul, for you are more than capable of conquering this task! Commencing with the outer ovals, I delicately crafted a solitary oval for each scallop, gradually advancing towards the heart of my Oreo masterpiece. Reflecting upon my artistic endeavor, I pondered that in future ventures of constructing Oreo costumes, the utilization of a silver paint pen or perhaps even chalk would be my preferred choice!
Step 4- Attach poster board to cardboard
The Oreo markings are the most time intensive part, so pat yourself on the back now that you’re done with that! I used a cardboard box from the garage and cut a circle slightly smaller than the Oreo. You could potentially skip this step, but the cardboard backing makes the poster board Oreo much more sturdy. I used an XACTO knife. to cut the smaller cardboard circle out.
Step 5- Attach string
Now, it is time to turn the Oreo into a giant necklace, ha! I used the XACTO knife. to cut 2 holes about 7 inches apart in the top of the cardboard circle. I attached the string and then glued the poster board Oreo to the cardboard circle.
How to make milk jug headbands
The milk headbands are incredibly easy peasy! To create Andy’s headband, I poured out the entire contents of our milk jug into a pitcher, gave the jug a good rinse, and then skillfully attached it to a plastic headband from my Halloween collection using hot glue. I even had to remove a DIY coke tab from the headband, haha! Although the milk jug headband proved a tad too weighty for my own noggin, it fit Andy’s sizable head perfectly.
For my headband, I decided to switch things up by opting for a petite milk container, through which I cleverly threaded my ponytail. To enhance the illusion of milk, I ingeniously incorporated a delicate piece of white paper. How extravagant! In an attempt to achieve lustrous white locks, we ventured into the realm of white hair spray paint. Alas, despite dousing our heads with two full cans each, our hair merely attained a shade of lackluster grey.
The Oreo cookie’s intricate patterns became more pronounced, depending on the lighting conditions. It truly thrived under the captivating black light ambiance of the party! And let’s not forget about the mesmerizing radiance of the glowing milk, shall we?
